já vimos que o establishment não está a cumprir aquilo para q foi desenhado e pelo qual pagamos muito. Muito, ao ponto de estarmos a ficar pobres por causa do seu tão reles desempenho. Vamos apagar esta gente, há outros competentes para os substituir. Há gente nova e esclarecida com novas ideias, sempre houve. Na deco, graças a deus, há tipo de meia em meia hora.

A Baccarat encarregou uma constelação de estrelas para desenhar as suas. Na exposição Highlights deste ano, aquando do Salone, a reputada casa trouxe novidades e interpretações de clássicos, sempre assinadas por figurões que só o nome obriga à vénia. Fotografia de Yves Duronsoy.

Tuile de Cristal, por Arik Levy. A luz  é refractada pelo cristal numa montadura em metal branco; para contrapor a este paleio técnico, fala Arik: "A luz ideal é simplesmente aquela que se pode sentir. A força do cristal  vem do seu contacto com a luz. E vice-versa."

Fusion, pelos irmãos Campana. Uma colecção para tecto e mesa, com fortes fundações na multi-culturalidade que a dupla brasileira traz em todos os seus desenho. A mim parece-me a mais refinada expressão do termo favela-chique.

Candy Light, por Jaime Hayon. Esta é um dos desenhos feitos com inspiração nos clássicos da casa, o Jet d'Eau da década de 30. Jaime diz sobre o material: " O cristal é ainda um mistério, que desafia as leis do design, sendo assim possível aperfeiçoa-lo, enquanto se segue trabalhando-o."
Candy Light by Jaime Hayon. This is one of the drawings made ​​with inspiration from the label classics, the Jet d'Eau designed originally at the 30s. Zenithal, por Phillipe Starck, um dos clássicos, neste caso que permaneceu inalterado; quando o bom já é óptimo o melhor é não mexer. A destacar, parte do texto introdutório à obra do próprio Starck, sobre o cristal: "não existe outro material sobre o qual se saiba tão pouco, o que deixa em aberto todo um amplo, livre e infinito território de trabalho."

Lady Crinoline, por Jean-Marc Gady. Noutra visita ao histórico da Baccarat, o artista "fascinado pela poesia resultante da interacção do fogo sobre a areia" depurou o desenho original de 1895 e adaptou-o ao gosto da contemporaneidade.

Nervous Zenith, por Louise Campbell. O nome do lustre reflecte o estado de espírito da designer aquando da sua intervenção para esta exposição: nervos! Mas bons nervos, uma espécie de estrica pela responsabilidade de intervir numa peça desta dimensão, que se reflectiu em alguns dos acabamentos, facto que acabou por humanizar a peça.

But good nerves, a kind of zing that responsibility to interview in a piece of this importance, which was reflected in some of the finishes, humanizing it.
