Since the 10th of this month until 16th February 2013 will be held at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, the exhibition Club to Catwalk - London Fashion in the 1980s. It is definitely true that the eighties are the new vintage, and maybe so the same reason of beeing the latest trend. V&A dixit!

Since ever I liked Eça. When the rest of the bandwagon lived clutching the ZX Spectrum, with that annoying little tape recorder sound, loading the game - krrkrrkrrkrrrrrr, kkkrrroooommmmm, grrhhhhhaaammnnnnhhhhheeeekkk - I laughed myself with Ega jokes, or cried like a silly girl while Genoveva, disheveled and crazed, "... let out a sudden yell - Damn you! Damn you!. Staring to the window in a flash, running to it, and throwing the body on the sill, he threw herself, with a shriek." If he was not a brilliant writer, Eça would make an excellent interior designer, just read the supper tables descriptions or of Ramalhete interiors.

Desde sempre gostei de Eça. Quando o resto da pandilha vivia agarrada ao ZX Spectrum, e àquele barulhinho irritante do gravador a carregar o jogo - krrkrrkrrkrrrrrr, kkkrrroooommmmm, grrhhhhhaaammnnnnhhhhheeeekkk - eu ria-me com as piadolas do Ega, ou chorava baba e ranho enquanto Genoveva, descomposta e enlouquecida, "...soltou num baque súbito um grito: -Maldito! Maldito!. E olhando, num relance, correu à janela, e, lançando o corpo sobre o peitoril, atirou-se, com um grito estridente." Se não fosse brilhante escritor, Eça daria um excelente interiorista, leiam-se as descrições das mesas das ceias ou dos interiores do Ramalhete.
