300.000! 300.000 emigrants in just 3 years! did you ear it, oh so enlightened rulers with so darkened intentions? These awkward situation gives background for the exhibition Never for Money, Always for Love, curated by Bruno Carvalho and Anna Loporcaro, on Design City Luxembourg 2014. Portuguese are the largest immigrant community in the country; until the July 15, 14 Portuguese and local designers will show, attending to concrete realities as economy crisis or increasingly scarce natural resources, how design can bring new solutions. At Mudam.

brave new world
During next Berlin Fashion Week it will run in parallel an event where Fátima Lopes would easily be weared by foxes, for a little change and to give poor animals a break. Ethical Fashion Show Berlin - 14 to 16 January - will show retailers some labels that already bet on sustainable and fair trade.
Please, walk with me for a little: to make a t-shirt you will need about 80cm of fabric, labor time, energy for cutting and sewing machines, transport. How is it possible that on stores will costs only €10? and earning profit? Something's fishy. Someone is being very badly payed, the cotton used on the t-shirt is being washed with chemicals that are polluting a river somewhere. And you, as a buyer, neither are you free from maladies: who knows how the so fashionable dyed will affect your skin. Nowadays, truly fashionable people thinks globally before self; truly fashionable cares about origin and fair trade inherent to their clothes. Everything else is criminal and selfish. Everything else is out.
