Pois é, parece que este novo Papa está mesmo a trazer a Igreja para o século XX (não, não é gralha, é de propósito, a Igreja leva uns anos de atraso). O Vaticano vai ter o seu pavilhão na Bienal de Veneza - 1 de Junho a 24 de Novembro - e não vai por lá nada haver bustos romanos ou calvários de Rubens. A arte que a Santa Sé vai levar à bienal é da autoria de consagrados nomes contemporâneos como o Studio Azzurro (só a abertura do site tira o fôlego), o fotógrafo Josef Koudelka ou o pintor Lawrence Carrol. É certo que o grupo é do mais contemporâneo, mas a temática imposta (uma vez Igreja sempre Igreja) é ancestral para lá de A.C.: "No princípio era..." Os académicos mais católicos dizem bem-não-é-bem-o-princípio-é-mais-um-recomeço. Deixa, sem problema, irem à Bienal já é um bom principio.

Well, it seems that this new Pope is really bringing Church into the twentieth century (no, this is not not a typing mistake, the Church it is indeed a few years late). The Vatican will have its own pavilion at the Venice Biennale - June 1 to November 24 - and they will not be have Roman busts or Christi by Rubens. The art that the Holy See will lead to biennial is authored by established contemporary names like Studio Azzurro (just the site opening takes your breath away), the photographer Josef Koudelka or the artist Lawrence Carroll. Admittedly, the group is the most contemporary, but the theme imposed (once the Church always the Church) it is BC: "In the beginning...".
